The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony has a nationally recognized Youth Orchestra Program (YOP) with four
ensembles ranging in age from 7 to 24: Youth Orchestra (senior), Sinfonia (intermediate), Youth Strings (junior), Valhalla Brass (intermediate to senior). Celebrate the incredible talent! Be amazed and inspired as the next generation showcases their great talent performing 4 concerts of classical masterpieces.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Orchestra program is always looking for new young talent.
Each ensemble is directed by specialists in their field and provides a solid training ground for future generations of musicians. Students are introduced to ensemble playing at an early age and develop communication, teamwork, leadership and performance skills.
Leadership is strong among the ensembles. Each ensemble performs at least once per year with an older ensemble. The senior Youth Orchestra performs with the Wilfrid Laurier University orchestra and with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.
Coachings are offered to each ensemble by members of the KWS. Additional training comes from special retreats,
masterclasses, workshops and chamber music sessions.
Fun! Youth Orchestra members become a community of friends that share common interests and often stay in
touch for many years. Youth Orchestra members enjoy preparing for concerts together and celebrating together at post concert events.
