Every year a calendar featuring art created by Leejay Levene and dedicated to his memory

is designed and sold as a fundraiser for a local organization. The proceeds from the 2012 calendar project will benefit the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony (KWS).

Leejay Levene was a Sir John A MacDonald student who passed away tragically at the age of 18 during routine wisdom tooth surgery; he was to begin studying architecture at the University of Toronto that fall. He was full of life, loved art and music, snowboarding and golfing. The Levene family chose the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony as their 2012 calendar project partner because of Leejay’s passion for the arts. Money raised from the sales of the 2012 calendar will go to the KWS Volunteer Committee and will directly benefit the KWS.

The calendars will be sold for $10 each and will be on sale at the Volunteer Committee Showcase at KWS concerts, at other KWS performances and through Patron Services at the Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts, as well as various outlets throughout the Region. Volunteer Committee members will also personally be selling the calendars.
