Following centuries of vocal music, the Baroque era saw instruments stepping out to become powerful storytellers in their own right. Violinist and broadcaster Kathleen Kajioka takes us on a journey through this birth of wordless narrative, from the very first violin sonata in 1610 to Telemann’s vivid portrait of Cervantes’ Knight Errant in his humorous Don Quixote.
