Canadian virtuoso pianist Marc-Andre Hamelin, a multiple Grammy Award nominee, is recognized around the world for the originality and technical proficiency of his performances. He joins the KWS for Haydn’s lively Piano Concerto No. 11 and Strauss’s witty Burleske. Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1 is composed in the style of Haydn with a truly classical feel, while Strauss’s transcendent tone poem Death and Transfiguration explores the mystery of death and what might lie beyond.
