Financial Assistance and Bursaries

The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony offers a bursary application process to offset the cost of registration fees for the Youth Orchestra Program. This is based on financial need.


Youth Orchestra Bursary Application Form 2019-20

The YOP Bursary program is a program of financial support for residents with low income. The assistance is given in the form of a partial or full registration fee credit to eligible individuals. If your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation email.

The credit is not transferrable or refundable.

Submission of an application does not guarantee receiving a bursary. The application must be submitted annually .

  • Eligibility

    Financial eligibility is based on total household income – all income before taxes. Proof of eligibility (2018 Notice of Assessment from Canadian Income Taxes) will be requested following the submission of the application. Some consideration is given to extraordinary expenses that impact on the family’s net income.

    The gross income levels below determine eligibility.
